Presque Isle State Park

Presque Isle State Park Preque Isle is a 7-mile, 3.2-acre peninsula that curls into Lake Erie. Internationally recognized as an ecological gem, Presque Isle’s clean, clear beaches, forests, swamps, beaver ponds and grasslands provide habitats for 321 species of birds and 500 species of plants. It’s also one of the few places in the world that’s continually reforming its glacial sand configuration through the actions of winds, currents and waves. It’s estimated that the peninsula has moved half a mile east in the past 100 years. Presque Isle is popular for a wide variety of recreational activities, including wind surfing, fishing, picnicking, boating, kite flying, nature walking or just relaxing while watching a beautiful sunset and taking in the brilliant autumn colors. A 13-mile multipurpose trail following the Pennsylvania Lake Erie coastline is popular for biking, walking, running, in-line skating and birding.
