The Wilds – Ohio

  • There is nothing like visiting the wild to see how endangered animals live in their own habitat. However, most people imagine they must travel to faraway lands to be able to do this. That’s not entirely the case and if you will be in Ohio you can take some time to visit The Wilds. Here you will be able to view animals that are quite rare and endangered in their open range habitats. A great opportunity to view these animals up close and personal should not be missed and you will spend an amazing day at The Wilds.

Other things to enjoy include the Butterfly Habitat, the Overlook Café, the Birding Station, and the Wilds Gift Market. You get to create your own adventure at The Wilds. This means that you can choose multiple options to make your experience just what you want it to be. You can choose the Open Air Safari or the Safari Transport Pass, for example, to enjoy the tour during the day. If you choose the Safari Transport Pass you will be able to stop at the Mid Sized Carnivore Conservation Center, Lake Trail, the Wetland, and the Outpost. This tour takes at least two hours. The Open Air Safari tour takes approximately 2.5 hours to enjoy.

One of the most amazing things to do is to take a guided safari transport to see the animals. Spend some time at the Mid-Sized Carnivore Conservation Center where you can learn and understand more about how the conservation work takes place at the Wilds. If you will be visiting during the months of June through September you make a reservation for a Sunset Safari. These are available only on Saturday evenings and it is a wonderful way to see everything in a beautiful setting while the sun is setting.
